Early Dismissal – Emergency Plans

If your child is to be dismissed early, we ask that you send a note to school that morning and that upon your child’s arrival at school, they bring the note to the office and receive a pass and directions for the early dismissal.  We are asking that you do not arrive at the office after 2 pm and ask to have your child called and dismissed early without this prior arrangement.  This is the time when secretaries and administrators are receiving late bus changes and essential information about dismissal.  Please try to foresee and plan for any change to your child’s normal end-of-day routines.  This will help us minimize any disruptions to the classroom and keep all children safe.

We also ask that you talk with your child and have a plan in case of any unforeseen events, including early dismissals.  These may include a missed bus, traffic delays, or change in after school plans.  Be sure that your child has a contingency plan, and has all important contact information, including current cell phone numbers and home and work phone numbers, and the phone number of an emergency contact person if you cannot be reached.
